A leaf of a young plant of Pinguicula primuliflora

.
Pinguicula primuliflora

A small tick (1 mm) on the leaf surface of Pinguicula primuliflora.
I often find this brightly orange tick (?) on the outside patio table, especially on a windy day.
I suppose they fall from the trees nearby in our backyard.

Next day....

Pinguicula primuliflora

A few days later: Digestive fluids envelope the victim....

Pinguicula primuliflora

The adaxial leaf surface.....

Pinguicula primuliflora

Mucilage-holding stalked glands on the leaf surface.
Numerous sessile (stalkless) glands can be seen on the surface also.
